Women Professionals
(1921 - 1960)

Beginning in the 1920s, more and more women entered into professional fields, earning graduate degrees and forging careers as architects, sociologists, research scientists, and business owners.

Throughout most of the twentieth century, women balanced society's demand that they stay home and take care of the family with their own desires to pursue professional work outside the home.
