Cornwall and its Antient Settlers

by
Timothy Stone

Edited and Preface by
Michael R. Gannett

Published in 1999
iv and 62 pages with index

The Rev. Timothy Stone (1774-1852) never finished his 600-page manuscript
of Cornwall’s earliest 1740-1800 history. Gannett’s preface explains his attempt
to weave Stone’s “drafts into single composite texts.” A very detailed recounting of
the people, lands, and animals; a vivid snapshot of long-ago Cornwall. Includes
centerfold map of Cornwall in 1850 locating houses, roads, and land features.
